Lettering and crosses.

We carve, incise and gild lettering. Crosses are made in a range of sizes, from small appliqués on grave plates to large free-standing memorials more than two metres tall. Everything is done from a sketch agreed before the work begins: the font, the size, the depth of the cut, the finish and a possible gold or silver fill.

For fonts we use proven masonry serifs and modern sans-serifs, always chosen for the memorial as a whole. A classic headstone inscription in a capital serif remains unmatched for legibility and dignity, while a more contemporary form can sit better with an architecturally austere memorial.
